“It’s always a true pleasure to have the chance to travel and present with our international partners,” said Jessica Sarles, Columbia GS Senior Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships. “This year’s events were especially exciting as we announced the launch of the first year admissions process for our Joint Bachelor’s Degree Program with CityUHK.”

Dean Sarles, along with Columbia GS Vice Dean Curtis Rodgers, recently traveled to Asia for a series of partnership visits and student recruitment events supporting the School’s international dual and joint degree programs.

The first stop was Hong Kong, they met with colleagues at the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) to strengthen the newly expanded Joint Bachelor’s Degree Program (JBDP), and participated in CityUHK’s annual Info Day. An information session on the JBDP drew an impressive audience of more than 300 attendees, reflecting strong enthusiasm for the growing program.

Deans Rodgers and Sarles also met with three first-year JBDP students—JiaYi Zhao ‘29GS, Mingyao Sherri Wei ‘29GS, and Yibin Wang ‘29GS—and personally welcomed them to the program while enjoying some of CityUHK’s signature ice cream together.

In Bangkok, they were joined by CityUHK’s Stephanie Kwan and hosted recruitment events for all four of GS’ international dual and joint degree programs, including an information session for prospective students and families and a luncheon for local school counselors. The information session also featured a special guest appearance from the Vice President of the Columbia Alumni Club’s Thailand chapter!
