Delegates from Columbia University visit CityU

November 16, 2018

In 2012, CityU established a partnership with world-renowned Columbia University to offer a Joint Bachelor's Degree Program to CityU students in a variety of academic fields. The partnership provides students a valuable opportunity to finish part of their undergraduate study in Columbia University, US.  Students will spend two years at CityU and two years at Columbia University. On successful completion of the curriculum requirements, they will earn two bachelor's degrees from the two universities, respectively.

In October 2018, a delegation from the Columbia University School of General Studies including Mr. Curtis Rodgers, Vice Dean of School and Ms. Jessica Sarles-Dinsick, Associate Dean for International Programs and Special Projects visited CityU and had a meeting with representatives from CB and its departments to explore possible curriculum mapping with the BBA majors.

The visit ended on a positive note with tighter collaboration between the CityU College of Business and Columbia University. Subject to approval by the University, BBA Business Analysis would be included as one of the eligible majors for the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Program.

Offered by the Department of Management Sciences, the BBA Business Analysis major aims to help students develop both qualitative and quantitative abilities to solve business problems and make decisions, and prepare them for a managerial position with high statistical or analytical skills in the financial, commercial, and government sector.
